The Audible Illusions Modulus 3 tube preamp is such a well designed unit that it easily rivals any tube preamp that costs up to $3,000 or even $3,500. Because it was such a musical preamp, audiophile communities around the World did not hesitate to accord it lots of positive reviews. It was very transparent, had silky smooth mid-ranges and delivered tight bass notes and finely tuned highs that you would normally expect from a much more expensive preamp. Even its phono stage was excellent for a $1,500 MSRP preamp! Some phono preamps that cost $1,500 don’t even offer the same level of musicality let alone offer the features of a full function preamp.
This is still one of the most sought after tube preamp today.
